The good reviews tempted me to give this a try.

As you can see from the following picture, their pasta are priced around $18.

After the orders were placed, we were served this plate of bread with olive oil and vinegar sauce as appetiser.

We ordered 2 pasta: Fettuccine alla Polpa di Granchio and Penne al Salmone. The ingredients  for Fettuccine alla Polpa di Granchio was definitely more interesting compared to Penne al Salmone. It tasted good and special, however, I got sick of it after a while. On the whole, both the pasta were definitely better than many other average pasta.

Fettuccine alla Polpa di Granchio – Black squid ink pasta tossed with crab meat, tomatoes, garlic, chilli and cream. [7.6/10]

Despite all the good reviews about their Tiramisu, I was a little disappointed with it. The liquor taste was minimal (almost nothing), it just tasted normal. [5.5/10]

Galbiati Gourmet Deli also sells biscuits and bread for takeaway. It was a good lunch experience and I will probably be back to try other items on their menu. :)

Nissin Instant Soba

In: Food| Japanese

26 Sep 2009

This is one of the great tasting instant soba I had in Japan, and am missing it so much that I am willing to pay much more to eat it again in Singapore. It comes in 2 sizes. I bought the bigger one because the price difference is less than a dollar. It cost about $4.30 in Meidi-ya (Liang Court).

Instructions on how to prepare the soba to achieve the ultimate taste:

  1. Add the packet of powder into the noodles.
  2. Add hot water, cover the noodles and let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. When the noodles are soft and ready to be eaten, put in the crispy piece. It dissolves and turn soft quite quickly, so add in bit by bit if you do not like it to be too soft.

The crispy piece does add color to the bowl of soba. The soup base is not too strong, just nice for a pleasant taste. [8/10]

Cannes 2007 Palme d’Or winner 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days. [8.2/10]

The mushroom soup is surprisingly delicious with chunks of mushrooms in it. It is definitely a healthy and authentically mushroom soup! [8.5/10]

Very tasty mushroom soup with chunks of mushrooms!

One look at the pizza and you can tell that it’s a healthier choice. The ingredients are fresh and the pinch of juice that seeped through the crust makes everything taste so good. [8.7/10]

This is definitely a healthier pizza choice topped with a glass of apple cider vinegar. I’ll be back for more!

Yoshimaru, managed by Jumbo Seafood, recently opened its doors in Holland Village. Missing all the ramen I had in Japan, I needed to give this a try. To my surprise, among all the ramen that I’ve tasted in S’pore, Yoshimaru Ramen Bar is one of the few that serves authentic Japanese ramen! I was so glad and went back again within a month.

I love their Roasted Garlic Ramen ($13+++). [8.5/10] The soup was rich yet not too oily, makes me crave for more after the meal. The Tonkotsu TanTan Mian’s ($12+++) soup base has a little peanut taste which I don’t prefer. [7/10]

The Jumbo Seafood member card gives 10% off which is to my advantage as I am a fan of Jumbo Seafood. I will be back to try their Traditional Hakata Ramen!
